To create a fee, first you need to navigate to the ‘Edit – Update Plan’ page for the plan to which you want to attach the fee.
To get there, first use the ‘Products’ link in the upper navigation bar to get to the main bundles list, then click the name of the bundle that the plan is attached to, and finally click on the name of the plan.
Once you are on this page, you can click on the ‘Add new Fee’ button. This will bring up the ‘Plan Fee Details’ page, where you can set the various configuration options described below.
To de-activate a fee, first you need to navigate to the ‘Plan Fee Details’ page representing this fee.
To get there, use the ‘Products’ link in the upper navigation bar to get to the main bundles list, then click the name of the bundle that the plan which contains the fee you want to de-activate is attached to. Finally, click on the name of the fee you want to de-activate in the ‘Fees attached to this Plan’ list.
Once you are on the ‘Plan Fee Details’ page representing this fee you can remove the tick in the ‘Active?’ check-box and click on the ‘Update Fee Details’ button. The fee will be de-activated, but a record of this fee is kept in the Jet database for historical billing and auditing purposes.
Note that you cannot re-activate a particular fee once it has been de-activated – you will need to create a new fee from scratch with the same settings if you inadvertently de-activate a fee you later wish to use.
When you are creating a fee, you can only do so by attaching it to to a plan – a fee in this sense has no existence independent of a plan, and cannot be re-attached or copied to another plan. However, when ‘deleting’ a fee, the fee is actually just ‘disabled’ rather than actually deleted. This is so that historical billing and auditing which depends upon the existence of this fee is never disrupted. A disabled fee is one that has been made inactive (so that it is no longer available to users on sign-up).
You cannot re-activate a particular fee once it has been de-activated. You will need to create a new fee from scratch with the same settings if you inadvertently de-activate a fee you later wish to use.
